Day 6

Wow. It’s hard to believe it’s day 6 already. Where has the time gone? We woke up to a rainy day and it hasn’t stopped all day. We checked into a couple of tours but it’s Monday and most of them are only operating on weekends SINCE THE CRUISE SHIPS AREN’T COMING IN YET!!! Oh well it would have been miserable in the rain anyway.

So we hopped on the city bus and went downtown to explore.
So tired of masking up.

There were some pretty fancy yachts docked there.

This one was quite impressive. We decided it belonged to some sheik from across the pond. It had a middle eastern flag.

And here we are as drowned rats 😁.
Salmon on brining racks. They hand filet the salmon and can filet up to 1,000 lbs per hour. After brining, it goes into the smoker.

We ate lunch at Deckhand Dave’s food truck.
Fortunately he had tables in a tent with a heater.
I had blackened rockfish tacos (sans crema 🙁) and Kim had the 3 fish sampler tacos (rockfish, salmon and halibut) with spicy crema. He said it was just an appetizer.
Soooo, we stopped at Tracy’s Crab Shack and he had a bowl of crab bisque.
Kody, since you noticed the squashed mosquito looked like a skull, Kim wants to know if you can see what’s wrong with this picture.
Wet wet day.
Took the bus back toward the hotel but got off at Fred Meyer to get some food and snacks for on the ferry the next two days. Then we walked the rest of the way back. It was only about a mile and since we were already wet…
And here’s my supper 🤣

That’s the gist of our day in Juneau.

Comments

  1. Well I see a One Way sign that’s pointed in a direction which will result in catastrophe if obeyed. Fortunately that crow with its stolen morsel of food knows not to follow it lol.
The rain has been a damper in your Alaskan adventure just about every day 🙁. Apparently John and Vicki and the Martin’s soaked up all the sunshine when we went up there. Apologies!!
